Montclair Community Food Co-op Bulk Buying

Enjoying Organic chocolate hazelnut spread bought by the case.

We buy in bulk at wholesale prices. Each member may buy one or more of the items in a case.
We buy Local organic raw honey, local organic maple syrup, locally dried fruit, dry goods like flours, rice and sugar.
We also buy from your favorite shampoo and body product companies.

Once a month we buy from a organic distributor purchasing all your favorite brands.
Quarterly we buy dried fruit and dried herbs in bulk.

We recommend that members buy "larger" when ever possible-
buying a larger container and products in concentrated form
can lower the environmental costs of packaging and trucking items cross country.

How to buy in bulk?
Start by saving receipts from grocery shopping.
If you know what you spend on an item per pound or per ounce then you
can shop around for a cheaper by the pound option.

Make a list of all the items your buy regularly-
figure out how much you use and how often.
Buying shampoo by the gallon may be a great savings if you use a bottle a month, etc.

What companies do we buy from?
We buy from some local farmers plus from United Natural Foods and Frontier Co-op.

Just dont eat it all at once!
